Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
My notebook stopped booting or even displaying backlight after being previously stucked in a "preparing automatic repair loop". It's always connected to WI-FI so it updates automatic from time to time. After the incident, it stopped displaying anything after I switched it back on, even the backlight doesn't show, the only thing that comes up is the light on the power button. I tried connecting it to different external displays using HDMI, but it's still the same, opaque! please someone help me!! I need it for my final year project, I have a lot on it. Possible repair prices please!!

Hey princeK,

I have the same problem with my pavilion x360 13-s121ds and suspect it is a motherboard issue. I would reccomend using another computer to finish your project. If you need files from the computer, watch a teardown video like this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6if0QdQm6E

and pull your hard drive out and connect it to the other computer with one of these:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-3-0-to-2-5-SATA-III-Hard-Drive-Adapter-Cable-UASP-SATA-to-USB3-0-Conver...

Then you can access you old files in file explorer on the other computer.

As far as repair, a motherboard replacement isn't cheap. You're probably looking at a couple hundred easy. It may be best for you to pull the hard drive out, get a new computer, and copy your files over. ( I reccomend selling the broken computer for parts on ebay without the hard drive.)
