@EddiesGroove, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop being stuck on BIOS!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It looks like your HP laptop is stuck in the BIOS update process after a Windows update. Here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
Wait and Give It Time
- BIOS updates can take time, sometimes up to an hour. If it's been stuck for a long time (more than an hour), move to the next steps.
Force Restart the Laptop
- Press and hold the power button for about 10-15 seconds until the laptop shuts down.
- Turn it back on and check if it resumes the update or boots into Windows.
Perform a Hard Reset
- Unplug the charger and remove the battery (if removable).
- Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to drain residual power.
- Reinsert the battery, plug in the charger, and turn on the laptop.
Try BIOS Recovery Mode
- Turn off the laptop.
- Press and hold Windows + B keys, then press the power button while still holding Windows + B.
- Release the keys when you hear beeping sounds or see the HP BIOS recovery screen.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to recover the BIOS.
I hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
