Hi @UNIB14Z3,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're stoked to have you on board!

To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please share the model name of your device?

Meanwhile, you can try these steps.

1. Power Reset

Disconnect the power adapter.

If the battery is removable, take it out.

Press and hold the power button for 15–20 seconds to drain residual power.

Reconnect the adapter (leave the battery out for now) and try turning it on again.

2. Check Power Adapter & PortMake sure the adapter’s LED (if present) is lit and steady.

Inspect the power cable and connector for any visible damage or looseness.

If available, try a known-working adapter of the same rating.

3. Look for LED Blink or Beep Codes

Observe the caps lock / num lock / power LED when you press the power button.

Note any blinking patterns (for example, two long blinks and one short) or beeping sounds — they can indicate a specific hardware fault.

4. Check External Devices

Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, printers, monitors, etc.).

A faulty peripheral can sometimes prevent startup.

5. Test with Battery Only or Adapter Only

If your battery is removable:

Try starting the laptop with only the adapter connected (battery removed).

Then try with only the battery (adapter unplugged).

This helps rule out a bad battery or adapter.

6. Perform a Hard Reset (if applicable)

Some HP models respond to a hard reset:

Turn off the laptop.

Hold the power + volume down buttons (or power + F2 / F6, depending on model) for 15 seconds.

Release and try to power on normally.

7. Listen & Observe on Power-on

Check if you hear the fan start briefly or see the keyboard backlight flash.

If there’s no fan spin or display flicker, the issue may be with the motherboard, RAM, or power delivery.

I hope this helps.

The hard reset works but when ever I am trying to run hp recovery (f6 key while booting) the laptop goes back to same issue.
