Hi @Rej27

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-e2000 is having some significant hardware issues, particularly with power and movement responsiveness.

Let’s troubleshoot this step by step to determine the cause and find a solution.

1. Laptop Not Turning On

This can be caused by issues such as a drained battery, faulty power adapter, or hardware failure.

Steps to Diagnose:

Perform a Hard Reset:

Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).

Press and hold the Power button for 15–20 seconds to discharge any residual power.

Reconnect the power adapter without the battery and attempt to power on the laptop.

Check the Power Adapter and Battery:

Verify that the power adapter is securely connected and not damaged (inspect the cable for fraying or bent plugs).

If the battery is removable, try powering on the laptop with just the charger connected (no battery). If the laptop turns on, the battery may need replacement.

Inspect the Power Indicator Lights:

If no lights are turning on when you press the Power button, the adapter, motherboard, or DC port might be the issue.

If lights are on, but the screen is blank, it could be a display issue or internal component failure.

Test with an Alternate Power Adapter (if available):

Use another compatible power adapter to rule out a faulty charger.

2. Laptop Lags When Moved

Lagging or freezing when the laptop is moved points to potential hardware issues, such as a loose internal connection or hard drive failure.

Steps to Address:

Inspect Internal Connections:

Over time, internal components like the RAM, storage drive, or cables can loosen. This may disrupt performance when the laptop is moved.

If you’re comfortable opening the laptop, ensure that all components, particularly the storage drive and RAM, are securely seated. Otherwise, seek help from a professional technician.

Check for Hard Drive Issues:

Older hard drives, especially mechanical ones (HDDs), are susceptible to failure when moved. Consider running a diagnostic test on the drive:

If the laptop powers on, press Esc repeatedly during startup to access the Startup Menu.

Select System Diagnostics > Hard Drive Test and follow the prompts.

Rule Out Overheating:

Moving the laptop can sometimes disturb airflow or trigger loose fans to obstruct functionality.

Ensure the laptop is on a flat, stable surface and clean the ventilation ports for any dust or debris.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
