@EmilyN6, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Laptop not powering on!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Troubleshooting Steps:

Check the Power Source:

  • Ensure the charger is properly plugged into both the laptop and a working power outlet.
  • Try a different power outlet to rule out any issues with the socket.

Inspect the Charger & Battery:

  • Look for any visible damage to the charging cable or adapter.
  • If possible, try using a different compatible charger.

Perform a Power Reset (Hard Reset):

  • Disconnect the charger and remove the battery (if it's removable).
  • Press and hold the power button for 30-60 seconds to drain residual power.
  • Reconnect the battery and charger, then try turning on the laptop.

Check for Indicator Lights or Sounds:

  • See if any LED lights blink or if the laptop makes any beeping sounds when you try to power it on.

I’d need more details about your laptop model and the issue to assist you further. Could you let me know if there were any recent power surges, or if the laptop had any previous charging or battery-related issues?

Looking forward to your reply!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
