Hi @Rittenpreet

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If your new HP laptop is not turning on, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can follow:

Check the Power Connection: Ensure that your laptop is properly connected to a power source. If using a power adapter, make sure the connection is secure. Sometimes, the issue can be a simple matter of the battery not being charged.

Power Reset:

  • Disconnect all external devices (mouse, keyboard, external hard drive, etc.).
  • Unplug the power adapter.
  • If the battery is removable, take it out.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual energy.
  • Reinsert the battery, and then plug in the power adapter.
  • Try to turn on your laptop.

Inspect for Physical Damage: Check for any noticeable damage, such as a loose hinge or any cracks that may have occurred during shipping or unpacking.

Check Indicator Lights: Observe any LED lights on the laptop. If they blink or show a specific pattern, refer to your HP user manual to understand the meaning, as it can indicate the nature of the problem.

Try a Different Power Outlet or Adapter: If possible, test with a different power outlet or adapter to rule out external power issues.

Contact HP Support: If your laptop still does not turn on, it would be best to contact HP Phone Support for further assistance or consider taking the laptop to an authorized service center, especially since it’s new and should be under warranty.
