Hi @Iresh2,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding performance issues on your HP Victus laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check for Overheating:

  • Cooling System: Ensure the cooling system is working effectively by checking if the vents are clear of dust and obstructions. You may want to use compressed air to clean them.
  • Temperature Monitoring: Use software tools like HWMonitor or Core Temp to check if the laptop is getting too hot.

Update Drivers and BIOS:

  • Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest drivers and BIOS updates for your model.
  • Make sure all drivers, including graphics and chipset drivers, are up to date.

Software Updates:

  • Ensure Windows 11 is fully updated. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and check for updates.

Running HP Support Assistant:

  • Use the HP Support Assistant to scan your laptop for any issues. It can provide automated fixes and general maintenance tasks.

Check Power Settings:

  • Navigate to Settings > System > Power & sleep. Ensure your power settings are not causing unexpected shutdowns.
  • Set a balanced or high-performance power plan.

Virus and Malware Scan:

  • Run a full system scan using Windows Security or another trusted antivirus program to rule out malware or virus effects.

Free Up Disk Space:

  • Check for sufficient disk space by going to Settings > System > Storage. Use Disk Cleanup to remove unnecessary files.
  • Consider uninstalling programs that are no longer needed.

Hardware Diagnostics:

  • Use the HP System Diagnostics tool to perform a hardware check. Turn off the laptop, press the power button, and repeatedly press F2 to enter diagnostics mode.
  • Select the component tests suitable for your issues (battery, memory, etc.).

Battery and Power Adapter Check:

  • Ensure the battery and power adapter are working correctly. If the battery is causing performance issues or shutdowns, consider replacing it.

I hope this helps.
