HP laptop, I enabled secure boot and in troubleshoot I wrote a prompt command and now the pc is turning on and off several times

Based on what you said — you enabled Secure Boot and entered a command in Troubleshoot (Command Prompt) — and now your HP laptop keeps turning on and off repeatedly. Here’s a breakdown and steps to help you recover it.

Possible Cause:

It sounds like either:

  • The boot configuration (BCD) was modified or corrupted.
  • Secure Boot is preventing your system from booting into a non-signed or incompatible OS (especially if you’re dual-booting).
  • A command you entered changed something critical in startup behavior (like bcdedit, bootrec, or diskpart).

Steps to Fix the Boot Loop:

Option 1: Reset BIOS Settings

  1. Power off your laptop.
  2. Press F10 repeatedly as soon as you power it on to enter the BIOS Setup.
  3. Inside BIOS:
    • Find the option to Reset BIOS to Default or Load Setup Defaults.
    • Disable Secure Boot temporarily.
  4. Save and exit with F10.
  5. Then see if your PC boots normally.

Option 2: Boot to Recovery or USB

If you still have a boot loop:

  1. Create a Windows 10/11 bootable USB on another PC using the Media Creation Tool.
  2. Plug it into your laptop.
  3. Power on the laptop and press F9 or Esc to get the boot menu.
  4. Boot from the USB.
  5. Go to Repair your computer > Troubleshoot > Advanced Options:
    • Try Startup Repair first.
    • If you remember the command you entered, let me know — I can guide you in undoing it via Command Prompt.

Option 3: System Restore (if enabled)

If the USB boots:

  1. Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > System Restore.
  2. Choose a restore point from before you made the changes.
