Pavilion g6
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I had a display issue. Given to the service center they fixed display issue.. but after which my laptop which did not have any issues with power / battery backup turns off exactly after 30 minutes... To isolate it is not because of battery I plugged in the main power by removing the battery but sill the laptop turns off exactly after 30 minutes

@Arunsynergy There are two possibilities, either its a virus in your startup folder or there's a hardware malfunction with the motherboard,

Just check your start-up folder for strange files (like .bat files).

  • If I write a code in a bat file to shut down the system automatically after 30mins and put that file in the startup folder, it will get executed every time u start windows and will do a force shutdown after specified seconds

So just go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup and delete any unknown, strange or weird files if exist.

If the above doesn't help, run a full anti-virus scan and if the results pass, you may want to contact the repair center and get the device re-repaired.

Let me know how that pans out,

Check power options under Battery. Try setting SLEEP AFTER to NEVER, see if it fixes the problem.
