HP Spectre x360 won’t turn on the camera to let me use FaceID and it won’t let me insert my PIN. Usually if the camera isn’t working or recognizing my face, it puts a text box on the screen for me to enter my PIN, but now it won’t let me at all. I can press and click whatever I want but nothing will happen. Have tried resetting security settings to factory default with F10 but that hasn’t worked. It also isn’t numlock. I have  also tried the shift+power button and even that doesn’t seem to be working.

@Cpsaf0223, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

External Keyboard or Touchscreen Only

Try these just to rule out input issues:

Attach an external USB keyboard to check if you can type the PIN then.

If the touchscreen works, try tapping in different areas or using the on-screen keyboard from the accessibility icon.

Use On-Screen Keyboard (Ease of Access)

At the login screen:

Click the Accessibility icon (bottom-right corner).

Enable the On-Screen Keyboard — this might allow you to enter your PIN even if your hardware keyboard isn’t registering.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
