Thanks for responding so quickly, I would like to know If I get a double rank ram 16 Gb with the current single 16Gb ram ,will I get 32 GB in total memory?

You said the command line inquiry says it maxes at 32 gigs so max capacity is not an issue. I would not mix a double and single rank module but there is a chance it would work. To be sure you really need to get 2 matching double rank modules, preferably -2400 speed.
