@ss309, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Security Policy Violation Error on HP Laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP laptop shows a message stating "Security Policy Violation" and the battery always displays 0% when plugged in, this indicates a potential security or system integrity issue. Here are some steps that may help resolve the problem:

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Shut down the laptop.
  • Disconnect all external devices and remove the power adapter.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power adapter and try to power on the laptop.

Enter Safe Mode:

  • Try to boot into Safe Mode to bypass some startup items that may interfere with normal operation.
  • Restart your laptop and as it is starting up, press the F8 key multiple times to access the Advanced Boot Options menu.
  • Select Safe Mode and press Enter.

Battery Check:

  • If the battery consistently shows 0%, the battery might be failing. If possible, try using another compatible battery to rule out battery issues.

Check BIOS Settings:

  • Enter the BIOS setup utility by pressing F10 at startup.
  • Check the settings to ensure they are not misconfigured. You can reset BIOS to its default settings if necessary.

Run HP Diagnostic Tests:

  • Use the HP Diagnostics UEFI tool to run a system test and identify any hardware-related issues.
  • Restart your laptop, press Esc repeatedly to open the Startup Menu, and then press F2 to open the System Diagnostics.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
