Hi @Gyan93,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The blinking lights on your HP x360 14 can be diagnostic indicators to help identify hardware issues. The pattern you're describing corresponds to a diagnostic code that HP uses to pinpoint specific problems.

Here's what the blinking pattern typically indicates.

Power Button Blinking 5 Times:

  • This usually points to a problem with the Motherboard or System Board. It often signifies a critical hardware failure that prevents the laptop from starting properly.

Caps Lock Button Blinking 3 Times Long and 5 Times Short:

  • This code generally indicates an issue with the BIOS or System Board. It can also point to a problem with the memory (RAM) or processor.

Steps to Troubleshoot:

Reset the BIOS:

  • Perform a BIOS reset by unplugging the laptop, removing the battery (if possible), and holding down the power button for about 15-30 seconds. Then plug it back in and try to boot again.

Check for Loose Connections:

  • If you're comfortable opening the laptop, check for any loose or disconnected internal cables, especially around the motherboard and memory.

Reseat the RAM:

  • Remove and reseat the RAM modules. Ensure they're properly connected.

Inspect the Battery and AC Adapter:

  • Verify that the battery is functioning correctly and that the AC adapter is providing stable power.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Remove all external devices and peripherals. Disconnect the AC adapter, and if the battery is removable, take it out. Hold the power button for about 15-30 seconds. Reconnect the battery and AC adapter, then try to boot the laptop.

Check for Overheating:

  • Ensure that the laptop's cooling system is working properly. Overheating can sometimes cause sudden shutdowns.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
