Hello,
I have trouble with my Notebook HP650 (Product-No. C1N06EA#ABD). The screen is still black after start and Caps Lock button blinks twice.
I wanted to use the method described in the support to restore: Create USB stick, and start with this key WIN+B. Downloading the BIOS Recovery tool (sp66781.exe) from the HP-website and doublecklick on the exe-file the following error is shown:
IHISI: Get support mode fail in SMI/BIOS did not support INSYDEFLASH.
Then I tried to prepare a usb stick manually:
- Formatting usb stick with size 1GB with FAT filesystem (and also tried FAT32)
- Copying the fd-file 01858.fd to the root dir of the usb stick.
- Tried also the fd-file 01859.fd - both with size 5.602KB.
- Tried also to rename the files to .bin extension
Then disconnect the laptop vom power source, hold the win+b button, connect the laptop to power source, clickt the power button and release the win+b button.
Then the usb stick led blinks and shows some action, but then stops working and the caps lock button blinks twice again.
Could you please help me to reanimate my beloved HP 650 laptop?
Thanks a lot!
