Need to reset BIOS admin password at HP ZBook 15 G2
Downloaded BCU from http://ftp.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/cmit/HP_BCU.html
however biosconfigutility /nspwdfile:"" replies with error message "Unable to process command. Password is set but no password file is provided.
"BSU return value ' real="10" translated -"10"
Tried to create password file etc - no luck.
BIOS ver is 1.08. To upgrade to 1.26 I need the password.
Happy to provide all hardware IDs if required.
Pls don't reply:
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/cmit/HP_BCU.html
as It is irrelevant advice.
SMC.bin file is required please.
Thank you in advance for the professional support as it was with the previous HP.

HP has changed their policies and NO LONGER provides the smc files you want. That was the only way that customers could reset BIOS passwords on their own.
We are not permitted to assist in resetting passwords because HP considers that a violation of customer privacy. HP can assist in resetting passwords but if your original warranty has expired, they will charge you for the assistance.
--------------------
For BIOS or power-on password resets, because the password is encoded onto a chip on the motherboard, replacement of that motherboard is required. For more information, read this HP thread: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06368824.
If you are not prepared to spend the money to get HP to replace the motherboard, you would have to take the PC to a local repair facility to see if they can do it for you -- we can not assist in that in any way.
