@Trynafixmycompu, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Since you forgot your password for your HP Pavilion dv6t-1300 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC, you have a few options to reset it and regain access:

Option 1: Reset Password via Safe Mode (If You Have Another Admin Account)

  1. Restart your laptop and press F8 repeatedly before the Windows logo appears.
  2. Select Safe Mode with Command Prompt.
  3. Log in with another administrator account.
  4. Type the following command and press Enter:net user <your_account_name> newpassword (Replace <your_account_name> with your actual username and newpassword with your new password.)
  5. Restart your computer and log in with the new password.

Option 2: Use Password Reset Disk (If You Created One)

  1. Insert your password reset disk.
  2. Click Reset Password on the login screen.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your password.

Option 3: Reset Password via Windows Installation Media

If you don’t have another admin account or a reset disk, you can reset your password using a Windows installation USB/DVD:

  1. Boot your laptop from a Windows 7 installation USB/DVD.
  2. Select Repair your computerCommand Prompt.
  3. Type the following commands:copy C:\Windows\System32\sethc.exe C:\ copy C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe C:\Windows\System32\sethc.exe
  4. Restart your laptop and press Shift five times on the login screen.
  5. In the Command Prompt, enter:net user <your_account_name> newpassword
  6. Restart and log in with your new password.

Option 4: Factory Reset (If You Want to Wipe Everything)

If you want to completely reset your PC, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off your laptop.
  2. Power it on and repeatedly press F11 to enter HP Recovery Manager.
  3. Choose System Recovery and follow the instructions to reset your laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
