If you are using a modern HP business laptop (such as an EliteBook or ProBook), HP implements stringent hardware-level protections.
According to official HP Business PC Policy, HP support agents can no longer generate remote SMC files or bypass codes to clear commercial BIOS passwords.
The official recourse for a forgotten password on these secure models is a physical replacement of the motherboard.
You will need to contact HP Support UK to check your current warranty status or arrange an official repair.
On many older or consumer-grade HP laptops, there are ways to fix this issue.
