Omnibook 7. Second time use only. Fully charged, will not turn on. Tried all recommendations on re-setting etc.

Power button blinks, then charging light blinks - then nothing.

Hi @EffieFee,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that your OmniBook 7 is not booting up. Since you’ve already tried the standard resets, this behavior on the HP OmniBook typically points to a hardware-triggered safeguard (such as an internal power rail short) or corrupted BIOS rather than a dead battery.

We suggest these relevant checks:

  • If the notebook will not turn on when connected to the AC adapter, HP recommends testing the AC adapter by connecting it to the computer and wall power and checking whether the power light turns on. If the power light remains off, the adapter may need replacement.

  • If the system battery is the only power source and the battery light blinks, that can indicate a low or critical battery condition. HP states that in a critical battery state, the computer may enter Hibernation or shut down.

  • If the computer cannot exit Hibernation, HP advises to insert a charged battery or plug into external power, then briefly press the power button.

  • If the computer is unresponsive, HP documents these emergency actions:

    • Press and hold the power button for at least 5 seconds

    • Disconnect the computer from external power and remove the battery (if removable)

Because your unit is fully charged, but the power button and charging light blink and then stop, this may point to a power, battery, or adapter issue, but the provided sources do not include OmniBook 7-specific blink-code diagnostics.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
