So, how will it work if I lock it by ctrl-alt-del and lock when I leave my computer? I'll have to restart?

I was finally able to get my system to not logout and it allows me to come back and continue later but security is totally bypassed... Not a reasonable, acceptable resolution! Anyone else been able to resolve this issue?

Thanks for the solutions earlier, but I agree that HP should sort this issue (which I also experience) without users needing to compromise on security...

Also an HP Envy, problem just started the other day, after comng out of sleep mode, cannot login.  Must restart - then fine.  Any solutions, other than the suggestions already posted.

I'm also having this issue, it happened before already, occasionally, but now it happens all the time since the last windows 10 update, it was the windows 10 creators update. Please HP, just debug and fix this issue, it's really annoying!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one with the issue! I attempted installing the creators update but I don't think it installed successfully. Since that time I've had to shutdown completely to log back in again!

I have the same issue.  I do not get a login prompt after coming out of sleep mode.  I have to restart to log back into windows 10.  This problem started after the last Windows update.

I have the same problem which is driving me nuts, searching the forum there is another similar post. So hopefully the issue is with simplepass...

 

"Hi, I found the problem, it was that the HP SimplePass applications in the start menu had been re-enabled. These are for the fingerprint reader, once I disabled them I can sign in as normal after waking from sleep. Cheers : )"

 

There was also an update availble once i started the simplepass app

An Hp Envy i7, is meant to be better than this this issue renders my laptops useless at critical moments.
