Hi @BBhardwaja ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Pavilion 14dv1000 laptop is not displaying anything on the screen despite the power LED being lit, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

Check External Connections:

  • Make sure that all cables, including the power cable and any external display cables (if applicable), are securely connected.
  • If you are using an external monitor, try connecting to the laptop's display directly to rule out any external display issues.

External Display Toggle:

  • Many laptops have a function key (e.g., F4 or F5) that toggles between different display modes. Press this key to cycle through the display options and see if the screen turns on.

Brightness Settings:

  • Sometimes, the display brightness may be set to the lowest level. Try increasing the brightness using the keyboard shortcuts.

Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the laptop, unplug the power cord, and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Hold down the power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reinsert the battery, connect the power cord, and turn the laptop back on.

Faulty RAM or System Memory:

  • Faulty RAM can cause display issues. Try reseating or replacing the RAM modules. If you have multiple RAM modules, try using one at a time to identify if one of them is faulty.

Faulty Display:

  • Connect the laptop to an external monitor. If the external monitor displays properly, the issue may be with the laptop's display or the cable connecting it. If the external monitor also doesn't display anything, the issue could be with the graphics card or other internal components.

Graphics Driver Issues:

  • Boot the laptop in Safe Mode. If the display works in Safe Mode, it may be a graphics driver issue. Update or reinstall the graphics drivers.

BIOS/UEFI Update:

  • Check the laptop manufacturer's website for any BIOS/UEFI updates. Sometimes, updating the system firmware can resolve compatibility issues.

Professional Assistance:

  • If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it may be a hardware problem, and you should consider seeking professional assistance or contacting HP support for further guidance.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
