Microsoft Windows 11

I have had my 17t-cn200 laptop for about 6 months and out of the blue, it will not power on and the HP Website says it out of warranty when it clearly states is has a one year warranty. (I have receipts and screen shots of when it was purchased) I have searched and searched and cannot find a phone number to speak to an actual human. This is my first time buying an HP product and if this is how they "support" their customers, it will be the last. I have never had this issue with the Dell products I have purchased.

I notified a moderator of the warranty problem.

Try a hard reset

  • Turn on the computer by holding the power button down for 20 full seconds then release.
  • Press the Power button one more time (if necessary) to start the computer.
  • Tap the ESC key about once a second after you see the LEDs on the keyboard flash.
  • Press F2 to run diagnostics: (v) 2.6 or later is recommended.

If above fails

If you did not register your product with HP then the warranty you are seeing is based on date of manufacture, not date of. purchase. You can update the warranty status by contacting HP and providing a proof of purchase.

If you purchased a used or refurbished system you need to check with the vendor (which could be HP).

thanks for the info! I have registered and submitted a Warranty dispute form. Hopefully this gets resolved quickly as this puts me in a pretty bad spot at the moment.
