Greetings Fellas! I was wondering if someone could help me with this, every time I power on my laptop there's an error/bluescreen saying that "non hp battery detected" I've checked other posts and solutions but I'm not quite sure if it's going to work on my laptop because those posts are way back 2022 to 2019 but they have similar steps. I really appreciate any help that you can provide.

Hi @MarynelPQ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting the "Non-HP battery detected" error message typically indicates that the laptop has identified a battery that is not manufactured or certified by HP. This can happen if you've replaced the original battery with a third-party one or if there's a problem with the battery's firmware.
Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:
Steps to Troubleshoot "Non-HP Battery Detected" Error:
Check Battery Installation:
- Ensure that the battery is correctly installed and securely connected to the laptop.
- Remove the battery and reinsert it to make sure the connection is firm.
Update BIOS:
- Updating the BIOS can sometimes resolve compatibility issues with third-party batteries.
- Download the latest BIOS update from the HP Support website specific to your laptop model.
Perform a Battery Test:
- Use the HP Support Assistant to run a battery diagnostic test.
- Open HP Support Assistant, go to "Troubleshooting and Fixes," and select "Battery Check."
Reset Battery Settings:
- Disconnect the battery and the power adapter.
- Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge residual power.
- Reconnect the battery and the power adapter, then power on the laptop.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Ensure that your Windows operating system is up to date.
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and check for updates.
Install HP Battery Driver:
- Sometimes, reinstalling the battery driver can help.
- Go to Device Manager > Batteries, right-click on the battery device, and select "Uninstall device."
- Restart your laptop, and Windows will automatically reinstall the driver.
Use Original HP Battery:
- If possible, try using an original HP battery to see if the error persists.
- Non-HP batteries might not be fully compatible with your laptop, leading to such errors.
