@Novbride11, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand how frustrating it can be when you're locked out of your laptop even though you know your password. Let's go through a few steps to help you regain access.
Confirm Internet Connection
If you're using a Microsoft account to log in, ensure your laptop is connected to the internet. Sometimes, the system can't validate the new password without a connection.
Try Logging in with the On-Screen Keyboard
There might be a keyboard layout issue:
- On the login screen, click the Ease of Access icon (bottom-right corner).
- Select On-Screen Keyboard and enter your password using it.
Use Microsoft Account Recovery
Since you've changed your password via Microsoft, try logging in here to confirm the new password works: https://account.live.com
If it works there, but not on your laptop, proceed to the next step.
Boot into Safe Mode with Networking
This can help bypass some login issues:
- Hold the Shift key and click Restart on the login screen.
- Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
- Press F5 to select Safe Mode with Networking.
- Try logging in again.
Reset Microsoft Account Password Again
Sometimes, syncing issues can cause login problems. Try resetting your password again: Change your Microsoft account password - Microsoft Support
Additional Tips
- If you’ve set up a local account instead of a Microsoft account, and forgot the password, you’ll need to reset it using a password reset disk or reinstall Windows.
- If you’re unable to access recovery options, you may need to create a Windows installation media using another PC: Create installation media for Windows - Microsoft Support
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
