Hi @Monika27,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're having trouble turning off flight mode on your HP laptop running Windows 7, here are some steps you can try.

  1. Using Keyboard Shortcut:

    • Typically, there's a key combination to toggle the airplane mode on and off. Look for a key with an airplane icon on it. It's often in the function key row (F1, F2, etc.) and may require pressing the "Fn" key simultaneously. Press this key combination to see if it toggles the airplane mode.
  2. Using the Settings:

    • Go to the "Control Panel" on your Windows 7 system.
    • Open the "Network and Sharing Center."
    • Look for a link that says "Change adapter settings."
    • Here, you should see your network adapters. Right-click on the one you are using, and see if there's an option to disable or enable it.
  3. Using the Notification Area:

    • Click on the network icon in the notification area (system tray) on the taskbar.
    • Check if there's an option to disable the airplane mode from the menu that appears.
  4. Check Physical Switch or Button:

    • Some laptops have a physical switch or button to enable or disable wireless connections. Check around the edges of your laptop to see if there's a switch or button labeled with a wireless icon or airplane mode. Slide or press it to see if it resolves the issue.
  5. HP Wireless Assistant:

    • If you have the HP Wireless Assistant installed on your laptop, open it and check if there's an option to enable or disable wireless connections.
  6. Update Drivers:

    • Ensure that your wireless network drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause issues. You can update them through the Device Manager.

Note: Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft, and it's recommended to upgrade to a more recent version of Windows for security reasons. Consider upgrading to a newer operating system if possible.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
