Hi, I have a HP Notebook 15-bw024nl that no longer starts.
After trying everything I decided to reinstall the system from external device.
Unfortunately, every time I try to read the external disk or USB stick, the computer always gives this error:
"The selected boot device failed. Press Enter to continue".
I noticed 2 anomalies in the system:
1) The bios does not save the settings (I have already replaced the CMOS battery and reset the values).
2) I tried to install the latest bios version from the USB key, which is read correctly but the operation systematically fails after automatically retrying three times. The new bios that I downloaded from the HP support site for my notebook refers to a system ID 8332 but the one present in my notebook is 8333 which does not exist on the HP support site!
I have the impression that there is "something" blocking the update.
Among the various attempts I have tried:
system check (Ram, HD, ...): OK.
I tried changing the bios setting (no secureboot, legacy, and more), but checking after restarting the settings are not saved.
I changed the RAM and HD hardware but nothing.
Please help me if you have any other ideas!
