@laptop1251, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Notebook!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

In the case of booting issues with your HP Pavilion g6 notebook, here are a few basic troubleshooting steps you can follow:

Check the Power Supply: Ensure the power cord is properly connected and the power outlet is functioning. Try charging the battery for a while then attempt to turn it on.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect all peripheral devices and remove the battery if it's removable.
  • Disconnect the AC power adapter.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the AC power adapter and try turning on the laptop.

Check for Signs of Life: Listen for any beeping sounds when starting your laptop, or observe any LED lights that might indicate hardware issues.

Connect to an External Display: If your notebook seems to be on but nothing is visible, connect it to an external monitor to check if the display is the issue.

Access BIOS Settings: Sometimes accessing the BIOS might help identify problems. Start or restart the notebook and press Esc or F10 repeatedly when it starts to access the BIOS.

Perform a System Recovery: If none of the above steps work and you've identified that the problem is software related, you might need to perform a system recovery or reinstall Windows. Ensure your data is backed up if possible.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
