Hello, my notebook is a hp 15s fq4xxx. When I press the ON button only with the battery, the battery LED blinks 3 times and the notebook does not turn on. If I press the power button with the charger connected, the battery LED is lit solid white and the notebook does turns on. This error is intermittent. the battery icon has a cross and the battery icon has disappeared from the taskbar . I went to the shop from where i purchased it the technician opened the laptop and it opened normally and on the battery and everything was working well but the system was too laggy . I came back home and reset the whole pc and after that everything was working very smoothly and was like back to normal. But now again the problem arised and i cannot turn it on on battery power . When running the diagnostics and powercfg/battery report it says no batteries detected . I wonder if anyone can tell me what may be happening with my notebook.

Hi @BRUCE_WAYNE1,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the issues you're experiencing with your HP 15s fq4xxx notebook suggest a possible hardware problem with the battery or the battery connection. Here are a few steps you can try to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:
Check the Battery Connection:
- Ensure the battery is securely connected. Sometimes, the battery might get slightly dislodged.
- Remove the battery (if it's removable), then reinsert it and ensure it's properly seated.
Battery Health Check:
- If the battery is removable, inspect it for any visible damage or swelling.
- Connect the notebook to the charger, turn it on, and go into the BIOS/UEFI settings (usually by pressing F2, F10, or ESC during startup). Check if the battery is detected in the BIOS.
Reset the Battery:
- Perform a hard reset by disconnecting the charger, removing the battery (if possible), and holding the power button for about 15 seconds. Reconnect the battery and charger, then try turning on the notebook.
Update BIOS and Drivers:
- Ensure your BIOS and drivers are up-to-date. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve battery detection issues. Visit the HP support website and download the latest updates for your model.
Battery Calibration:
- If your notebook has a battery calibration tool, use it to recalibrate the battery. This can sometimes help in detecting and improving battery performance.
Battery Replacement:
- If the battery is still not detected and the issue persists, it may be necessary to replace the battery. Contact HP support or an authorized service center to get a replacement.
Check for Software Issues:
- Sometimes, software issues can cause the battery not to be detected. Perform a clean installation of Windows and check if the battery is detected afterward.
Since the technician was able to get the notebook working on battery power, it suggests that the issue might be intermittent or related to a loose connection. If the problem continues, it would be best to have the notebook examined again by a technician who can perform more thorough diagnostics and possibly replace the battery or any faulty components.
