Hey there!

A  few days ago my notebook crashed from normal business while it was turned on. Since then it's not booting any further than the hp-screen. Pressing ESC during startup leads me to the BIOS/UEFI but's it's freezing immediately not reacting to keyboard inputs and stuck in a loud tune. Pressing F11 during startup leads me to the Factory Recovery after a loooooong time waiting with the "Rollback"-Options for Windows, but every option fails because the windows installation cannot be found.
My first thought was that this errors depends on a corrupt windows installation. My new fear is that this might be a hardware issue. The OS is running on an SSD hard drive. I testet the HDD hard drive on another pc which is working fine. I cannot remove the RAM because it's held by a srew which is to worn to remove.

Does anybody of you have an idea which might cause the problem or other methods to test?

Thanks a lot in advance, Anni

IF it were mine, I would try two things -- diagnostics and booting from external media.  The first to see if there are major hardware issues other than the SSD, the second to see if the PC will still boot and run.

If you CAN, to find out the problem, you would need to be able run hardware diagnostics by pressing the Esc key repeatedly and then, when the HP Startup Menu appears, select Diagnostics (usually F2) and let it run.

You will need to create Boot Media using a working PC.

Macrium Reflect is a free tool that can be used to image and restore PCs, but it also has an option to create Rescue Media (in disk or USB form) that can then be used to bot and/or Repair your PC.

It is available from here: http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx

What I recommend is the following:
a) Download and install Macrium Reflect (MR)
b) Use the option to create a boot USB stick or CD
c) Boot your PC from the MR media -- it will take a while, so be patient!
d) If that works, you can try the option to repair the boot media -- and then see it it will reboot from the SSD.
