Pavilion 15-au111tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop was working fine, I left it turned off for about 25 days now when i try to to turn it on the light on the power button blinks (long blinks like 4-5 secs on then off for similar period) and nothing happens (no fan, no hard drive). Unplugging the battery doesn't work either. Power adapter is working fine as the light near the connection port turns orange when battery is plugged in.

I have tried charging for 30 mins then turning on. Hard resetting by pressing power button for 15 secs (both with battery and without battery). Even tried keeping it pressed for a full minute just in case.

One more thing my battery backup wasn't great prior to all this it was only 10-15 mins.

If anybody knows a solution please help.

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Firstly, let's reseat the hard drive and memory.

  1. Press and hold the Power button for 5 - 15 seconds to turn off the computer.
  2. Disconnect the power cable.
  3. If your notebook model features a removable battery, remove the battery.
  4. Disconnect and reconnect the internal hard drive and Memory. For instructions, see the Maintenance and Service Guide for your notebook model. Locate these in the User Guides section of your notebook product page on the HP Customer Support website.
  5. After connecting the hard drive and reassembling the computer, try to start the computer normally.

If reseating the hard drive and memory does not resolve the problem, try replacing the memory modules and hard drive.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi @Echo_Lake

Thanks for replying, I tried everything (except replacing memory module as i don't have any spare right now) you suggested but the problem persists even removed RAM and HDD doesn't affect the blinking.

I have linked this video.

I don't know if you can see it clearly but both the power button light and the light next to charger connector blink, which looks kinda like the blinking shown in shipping mode case. Now is it possible for the notebook to go into shipping mode by itself if the charge level goes critically low. And since my battery is not in optimal condition (its bloated) it is not charging properly and my notebook isn't coming out of shipping mode. If so won't removing the battery should do the trick if not then will replacing the battery will work.

If none of what i say makes sense, please give me any insights you have or anything i can do. Since there isn't a service center in my town. I can only take it to the service center after the lockdown is lifted, and who knows when that will be.

P. S. Neither fan nor HDD starts and there isn't any cursor on the screen either. There is nothing on the screen. I press the power button and it starts blinking.
