HP Pavilion dv4-2040us Entertainment Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Notebook starts to a black screen and Caps and Num lock keys'  LEDs  blink twice every two seconds, indicating a corrupt BIOS. Windows Key+ B or V trick doesn't work. Tried using the hardware diagnostics USB key for legacy systems on right side USB ports, no dice. It might be there is no support for this Pavilion dv4 model. Support materials on HP support and community sites show as "Archived". Is this device beyond repair and should it just be recycled?

Thank you.

Never mind. After viewing HP support videos and reading HP community posts about the failure posted above, reseated the SIMMs and the notebook came back to life.

Thank you to anyone who may have read the post.
