My HP Victus laptop stopped turning on as of yesterday.

The charging LED does not light up even when the power adapter is connected.

The issue occurred suddenly during normal use.

Previously, the screen and keyboard backlight would occasionally turn off for 1–2 seconds and then come back on.

Now, the device does not respond at all.

Hi @Moh09,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Based on what you've shared, it sounds like your HP Victus laptop is experiencing a complete power failure, possibly due to a hardware fault in the power delivery system, battery, or motherboard. The fact that the charging LED doesn’t light up and the laptop is completely unresponsive even after resets is a strong indicator.

Let’s go through a few targeted steps to isolate the issue:

Step-by-Step Recovery Checklist

1. Try a Hard Reset (again, with battery drain)

Even though you've done a reset, try this variation:

  • Disconnect the charger.
  • Hold the power button for 60 seconds.
  • Leave the laptop unplugged for 10 minutes.
  • Reconnect the charger and try powering on.

2. Check the Charger and Port

  • Use a different HP-compatible charger if available.
  • Inspect the charging port for dust, bent pins, or looseness.
  • If the charger has a removable cable, try swapping just the cable.

3. Look for Signs of Life

  • Plug in the charger and check for any faint LED blink near the port or keyboard.
  • Listen for fan spin or drive noise.
  • Try pressing F2 or ESC repeatedly while powering on to trigger diagnostics.

4. External Display Test

If the screen is dead but the system is running:

  • Connect to an external monitor via HDMI.
  • Power on and check for display output.

5. BIOS Restore:

  • Shut down the computer, keep the charger plugged in
  • Hold down the Windows and B buttons together while the computer is still turned off.
  • Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B buttons until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions and click on OK.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
