Description of Problem: My Laptop is a HP PROBOOK 450 G6 The architecture is Intel Core i5-8265U processor and Nvidia GeForce MX130 graphics memory.
The Nvidia GeForce MX130 graphics memory is not responding, each time the laptop tries to interact with the chip it locks up and freezes. to elaborate, if I try and update the driver, the laptop locks up, if I try to enter the device properties the laptop locks up and freezes and a forced shut down is required.
The laptop itself has now automatically assigned the Intel CPU to handle all the previous GPU tasks, assigning the MX130 a code 43, stating that windows have detected problems with the display adapter in the device manager.
I have tried updating the drivers but with no luck, each time I try to update the drivers the laptop locks up and freezes. This began to occur after I was playing 'Fortnite' on the machine, as the GPU handles that processing, the laptop was already running fairly hot and it locked up and I had to force a shutdown.
This is when the problem began. Games like Control, Firewatch, Disco Elysium, The forest ran smoothly at the resolution of 720p. It was my first time playing Fortnite on the machine and the game automatically assigned the graphics settings of the medium at full HD resolution. It was playing perfectly fine before the lock up in the 2 hour period.
Troubleshooting: I have tried to reinstall the device drivers but it locks up and freezes, I have tried uninstalling the drivers, disabling them, using the HP assistant, each time the PC tries to interact with the MX130 it freezes completely, making it impossible to try and fix it. I have however put the laptop in safe mode, installed the drivers, it signals that it is a success, but once the computer is booted into normal mode I get a 43 error in device properties.
