I changed the format of my hard drive and now it cannot boot the OS, How can I reset it

I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing. 

 

The term "format" has a very specific meaning -- to recreate one or more filesystem partitions on a drive. This effectively removes the partition(s) formerly there and while it writes a filesystem to the drive, that is blank -- so the drive no longer has Windows on it and it no longer boots.

 

Is this what you did, or did you do something else?
