OMEN Laptop - 15-dh1070wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Omen 15-dh1070wm a little over one year old (literally only three weeks out of warranty) that won’t boot up after being put in sleep mode. It will turn on and I can hear the fan briefly start up, but the screen stays black. The caps lock light was blinking 5,3, so I tried a hard reset, which did not improve the error. I also tried opening the BIOS update screen using windows key + b + power button, but I only got the same black screen and caps lock code.

@JL301

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?

If you have already performed the steps from the document HP Notebook PCs - Computer Does Not Start: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01997899, No Power or no Boot and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

I'm sending out a private message to assist you with the next course of action. Please check your Private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile Next, to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it or simply click on this link: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
