OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-wf0000 (755G1AV)
  • Hi

For 1 week ago my omen won't start it was as dead, so i reconnected the battery and it worked.

After 2 days the same issue, I tried with the same procedure but didn't worked this time so i tried with ctrl+v and it worked and then i updated the bios.

Today i was playing a game and the image from external monitor went black and the image appeared on the laptop's screen.

I installed the last nvidia drivers and it asked for a reboot so i did it. Then when it would boot everything went black and i could see the hp logo but it was very dark so i almost couldn't see it, so i tried then to boot again and no image in either the external or internal.

I tried with the previews solutions and now also by holding power button 1 minute and removed the ram and tried with only 1 ram too.

It boot with ctrl-v but no image and no lights in the keyboard, only the charging light is working and it's white. The fan is on and goes a bit faster and then slowdown, and the laptop is a bit warm but not so much. So its seems that its running but idk in which phase.

I disconnected everything for 20 minutes an then i got the option to reset the bios on the laptop's screen and then it went black again.

Idk if it is a bios error or just the driver i installed for the graphic card

Last night I left it on without the charger since the fans kept running at low speed and it was a bit hot. After 2-3 hours it turned on by itself with 16% of battery left and appeared in the Windows login. Upon entering I noticed that it did not have the nvidia 4070 device, only the integrated one. I have not been able to find out more due to time. But apparently it was the graphics card drivers.

The same issue today.

After 2-3 hours it turned on by itself with 16% of battery left and appeared in the Windows login.

In windows i installed another BIOS version F.12 and the Graphic drivers from Nvidia Experience and now it seems te be working without issues. I will be back if the problem arise again.

The problem persists, I tried now without external monitor and with and without charger.

When the computer are on, the power button is off(no light) but the computer is running. In the windows logon page and logged in, the screen works few second and then it becomes black(no image at all), and after some minutes, the image is back again and it stands in this loop. When i tried to turn it with power button, it doesn't work.

All this started when i installed to the new versions of bios since i've tried with F12, F15. Tried even with an old graphic drivers and the new one from nvidia.

At the end i decided to use hp cloud recovery tool, so the laptop is as default now with windows 11, but with the newest BIOS and a nvidia graphic driver from june 2023 and the problem is gone.
I have to point out that when the problem occured it was with Windows 10. The new Bios seems to be working better with windows 11. I will try to install the newest graphic drivers too.

The problem is back after restoring the laptop and tried with 2 different m.2 ssd.

Everything was fine until i started a game. Tried with different connection to the screen as HDMI, USB-c to USB-C, and USB-C ti DP. The problem is even with the built-in monitor. the problem just seems to occur when i launch a game.

Here is the video showing the problem when it lose the image  and the power button lights up repeatedly
