Hi @AnselSG

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing those details — it sounds like your HP Omnibook X is stuck at a memory training prompt but becomes completely unresponsive to both keyboard input and a forced power cycle.

Let's go step-by-step to troubleshoot this kind of issue:

What This Message Means

The message:

"The system requires a restart to perform a complete memory training."
usually appears after hardware changes like:

RAM replacement or upgrade

CMOS reset or BIOS update

Overheating or unexpected shutdown during POST

It tells the system to run memory initialization (training), but your system isn't responding, which suggests a deeper firmware/hardware hang.

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

1. Completely Power Drain the System

This helps reset the embedded controller and any residual power preventing POST:

If your laptop has a pinhole reset (check bottom or sides):

Insert a paperclip and hold it for 10–15 seconds

Then plug in the charger and try turning it on again

If there's no pinhole:

Unplug the charger

Press and hold the power button for 30–60 seconds

Leave it disconnected for 5 minutes

Reconnect the charger and try powering on again

2. Try External Keyboard

If the laptop’s built-in keyboard is unresponsive (especially if a ribbon cable is loose), try plugging in a USB keyboard and pressing Enter or Esc again on that.

3. Try RAM Reseating

If memory training is failing, RAM could be poorly seated or damaged.

Only do this if you're comfortable opening the laptop:

Power off and unplug the device

Remove the back panel

Carefully remove the RAM module(s) and reseat them

If you have two modules, try one at a time in each slot (in case one is faulty)

Reassemble and power on

If you’ve recently upgraded RAM, try reinstalling the original RAM.

4. BIOS Recovery (if needed)

If nothing else works, it’s possible the BIOS is stuck.

HP supports a recovery method:

Turn the laptop off completely

Press and hold Win + B, then hold Power for 2–3 seconds while still holding Win + B

Release power but keep holding Win + B for about 10 seconds

If successful, it will enter BIOS recovery mode

5. External Monitor Test (Optional)

If you suspect the screen is frozen but the system is otherwise running, connect to an external monitor (via HDMI or USB-C) to rule out display issues.

If Still Unresponsive

If none of the above works:

The motherboard or RAM may have failed during training

A service center may need to reflash the BIOS or replace RAM/board

Would you be able to:

Confirm if you made any changes before this started? (RAM, BIOS, power loss, etc.)

Tell me your exact HP Omnibook X model number (should be on a sticker or original packaging)?

With that, I can tailor more specific next steps.

I also get this message about once a month when I try to open it to use it. I don't really mind it because I can just press Enter and use it.
I bought an OmniBook 7 Aero13 Ryzen AI7 in July of this year.
