PLEASE HELP!!! Black screen caps lock 5.3 blinking code pattern and flashing battery power indicator

HP Notebook - 15-bs192od
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After installing recommended 2020-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 V 1909 for x64-based Systems ( KB4532693) and restarting as required... it only finished 2 of the 4 step update process and the screen went black...am only able to power on when ac adapter is plugged in...after doing so the caps lock has 5.3 blink code pattern and red battery/AC power indicator flashes white every 2 seconds...after disconnecting AC adapter from notebook it automatically powers off and battery indicator is no longer red instead it continuously flashes white light but unable to power on
