EliteBook 850 G1
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Last day my laptop got a BSOD with the message Hardware Failure, ever since I can't use windows on it. After several times of trying I can't think of any more solutions.

EliteBook 850 G1 with Intel i7, 16GB RAM (2x8GB) and a 240 SATA SSD

I tried to reinstall windows to the clean SSD and the Windows installer doesn't want to start (I tried 3 different windows 10 ISO)...after that I tried to install Ubuntu and Surprisingly it worked. Still can't install Windows.

Steps I tried:
-clean install Windows 10 (the install screen never appear)
-checking RAM (bios diagnostic - Passed)
-checking SSD (bios diagnostic - Passed)
-using only 1 RAM stick (tried both RAM sticks)
-buying a new SSD
-BIOS update
-unplugging Huawei LTE module and Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260 module
-unplugging the battery

Right now I'm running Memtest86

If someone has any more idea please share with me.

Hi

What if you made a small partition8 Gb on the SSD and copied/expanded the W10 iso onto that, and tried an install from there via ESC and F9.

There must be a problem with either the USB stick, because it should just boot, irrespective of where the install is going to end up.

OR

You are trying a USB 3 port and it only works with USB 2.  You did use the MS creator tool?

ISO images of various Microsoft OS's are available.

They can be be downloaded (sometimes you need a licence key other than the HP OEM key)
and 'burnt'/expanded to a DVD/USB. They WONT contain appropriate HP software, like drivers etc.
But may enable a repair to be started.

For when it’s a NON MS OS (iOS/Linux/Android) to create install media.

and a HOW2 is here...

Is there BitLocker in use?

Was Ubuntu installed as a SECURE boot option?

Otherwise I got less of an idea than you, you seem to have covered most everything and I am clutching at straws.
