Hi there, Went to log on to my laptop and it said that I had the password incorrect, which it isn't.
Now I cannot get on to my laptop.
It does give me a message to reset it at account.live.com/password/resset but that looks dodgy.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks
Amanda

Hi @AmandaJLK,
Thank you for showing your interest in HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for the First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand you are having issues logging on to the computer on your HP Pavilion notebook. Don't worry as I have a few steps which should help you to resolve this issue,
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details
Is this a Windows Logon Password or Bios Password?
Have you tried performing any troubleshooting steps before posting this on HP Support Forums?
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
If it's a Bios Password - You would have to contact HP phone support for a hardware service as the motherboard may require a tattoo/Bios Flash.
Any other way of unlocking the BIOS is not authorized by HP.
I understand you locked out of your computer and need the Windows login password. Try this first: Use the HP Guided Solution: http://hp.care/2fKbuW6
Microsoft account:
Reset your Microsoft account password online. You can reset your password on any device connected to the Internet. See the Microsoft password reset page to reset your password: http://hp.care/2dHdY5M
Local account:
Use the following link to reset the password for your local account: Windows 10: http://hp.care/2dOYNcy
I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes for further assistance.
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,

that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.
