HP ProDesk 405 G6 Desktop Mini PC IDS Base Model

Hello, I bought a used ProDesk 405 G6 Mini, but unfortunately, it has a BIOS password, and the previous owner no longer has it. I want to install a different operating system, though, and for that, I need access to the UEFI. During a phone call, the only option offered was to buy a new motherboard. I’ve read about the possibility of obtaining an SMC.bin file. Pls help me. Sry for my english, i use google translate

Unfortunately, for problem with passwords you will need to contact an HP agent.

  • Sign in to your support page
  • Select the product you need help with and scroll down to support options.
  • Select "Contact us". You can change country and language if necessary.

Here is HP's official policy regarding BIOS passwords:

You need to contact an HP agent and explain the problem, or take the PC to an HP authorized repair center.
