Product: HP Pavilion - 15-cw1063wm

A while back, quite a few people experienced a problem where their Pavilion 15 Ryzen laptop failed after attempting to install a BIOS update. See previous discussion thread:

Unfortunately that thread is locked now, but in case anyone finds this, I have some good news to share. Some of us have been able to recover the machine by externally re-flashing the BIOS. The procedure requires some technical skills, opening up the laptop, and purchasing a programming tool, but it's not too bad if you are comfortable with those things.
