Pavilion DV6-6b41ed
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hey,

First of all, thank you HP for the great service(quality).

In 2011 I bought my HP DV6-6B41ED, i7-2670QM.
Windows 7 x64, beats by Dr.Dre :Sunglasses:

17FA-110, A4C22EA#ABH, DV6-6B41ED, TPN-W104,
BIOS: F1.C , 2CE1471Y1J

It was a real head to head race every time I pulled my HP onto the table. Even now! I know he isn't dead, I know it still is alive. Breathing, 90BPM, 130BPM , 260BPM.

He needed a little OS upgrade.. so we did gave him a new chance. (Downloading windows 10 x64)
At the first glance every thing looked smooth. Not really butter smooth. But smooth enough.

So I did reset my whole pc. HDD format. Recovery partition gone too, bad.. very bad things began to happen.
Windows update crying to restart the pc, installed all the drivers automatically from Windows Update.

Then the doorbell rang. Knock Knock, who is there ?
BIOS UPDATE. Okay HP, do your thing I will take a shower.
So when I came back, the laptop was sitting at a black screen.

That was exactly 10 days ago.
I slept this week 3 days and fell a sleep 1 day. Been working my ... off at work. Going back to home, trying to recover it again.

Plugged out wifi, hdd, reseat the RAM, CMOS reset, bought a new RTC battery, switched my HDD to SDD (No dvd player) HDD is back at it's original HDD place, and plugged the dvd rom again back in. No. Still no luck.

HP_TOOLS usb with UEFI Support Environment. Check, Kingston 32 gb usb 3.0 ( I know, in recovery state mostly they want 2.0 and 4gb or less ? Cuz of drivers)
Unknown brand, 512MB usb 2.0
Unknown brand, 256MB usb 1.0
Kingston data traveler, 32gb 3.0
Unknown brand, 8gb usb 2.0

Formatted, UEFI, copy bios to Current, 10000x tried with every thing and combination. Decoded using Phoenix tool ( rename to <017FC.BIN 017FA.BIN, 01711.BIN, BID017FC.F1C.BIN, BID017FA.F1A.BIN all with .SIG file also. Not all in the same map. But different key and format again restart UEFI SUPPORT ENVIRONMENT.> Make me a USB anyone. AND MORE I DONUT REMEMBER), prayed, waiting for 2nd 9/1 soon. Tried with older uefi environments. Tried FAT and FAT32, also made GPT and MBR. Primary and/or active tried every f thing.

There I'm now sitting on my couch staring at a black screen.
Waiting for a gift.
017FC.BIN, my rev is 17FA-110.
Better throw me some download. With full pre configured USB HP_TOOLS. Custom build for mine laptop.

I'm good I'm chill, as my laptop blows all night long. Sharing our emotions with each other.
My eyes crying of the screen on time at a black screen, and my HP that wants to show me some of his new tricks! Black screenooo modooo.
Fan spins, also Win + B , Win + V, Esc + Power, Esc + F10, Esc + EVERYTHING, FN + B V X Q F1 till F10.

EVERY key function. All of them, only with Esc + Power kinda key it does a soft reset ? After hearing it turning on and off for the 2nd time fan spins max. And blows slower.
The 3rd time ( still talking about ESC + Power ) it blinks the F11 Mute button. But all the time F12 WiFi is turned on amber.
Capslock doesn't give a light, or touchpad is still white, doesn't turn into Amber.

P.S. I'm mentally not fine anymore, I hear my fan blowing even though when I'm outside, or having dinner, when did I ate the last time ?

Yes, I'm a technical expert. But bios + HP. Doesn't go so well with each other. No offense, also this is from 2011 laptop. But still the king of the hill!!!!

Cheers,

P.S.2. Bios was F1.C, I don't know why HP support application wanted to update to F1.C again. Send me my files and we have a deal, HP still rocks.

EDIT: Put some Screenshots. I'm a developer/debugger/builder but this bios....................

@MrPsykoV2

First off, we are NOT HP Tech Support; instead, we are a self-help forum and we do not provide file downloads nor do we send files to folks.

Second, I also have a model DV6 laptop -- but the BIOS has not been updated since 2011.  So, I'm guessing yours is in the same boat, meaning, there is no new BIOS version available for it.

Third, as to removing the battery, unlike with desktops, removing the battery in laptops does not accomplish anything.

If you want this serviced, you will have to locate a laptop service facility -- as we have no way of examining it or running diagnostics from here.

I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor represent, HP
