G6-2210us
Linux

6/18/2020 --- This computer is dual boot - Windows 10 and Ubuntu Linux, with UEFI.

I want the computer to start UEFI with the Linux boot manager (GRUB) instead of Windows boot manager - this is often done on dual boot (Windows + Linux) machines and entails adjusting the UEFI boot order. On this (G6-2210us) I cannot get the boot order to be retained.

I can set boot order for Ubuntu for "one time only" boot (that works), but I cannot change the boot order and have it persist; each time (except for one-time boot) the boot order is rewritten by the laptop to start Windows boot manager.

BIOS is version F.12; I do not see any option for BIOS update.

2. Does this posting fail to explain the issue sufficiently to elicit any type of reply?

The problem remains unresolved.
