Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi guys,

I'm trying to reset my Windows 7 PC but it refuses and I'm getting out of ideas.

I have tried to update HP recovery Manager, booting with a disc and/or a USB made from the same program, download windows recovery files directly from Windows and to use F9 to start up from the boot menu. Nothing works. Ether it hangs up, isn’t giving me any options or starts Windows normally (which takes almost 5 minutes at the moment)

Any Ideas of what I can do?DSC_0212.JPG

Hi! @Yasin22, Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!

I understand you have issues restoring your PC back to factory settings using recovery discs\recovery kit.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

Have you tried running a hard drive diagnostics on your PC?

Are you using HP shipped recovery discs or did you create the recovery discs by yourself?

Please provide the product number of your PC to assist you better.

As you mentioned you have issues restoring your PC back to factory settings using recovery discs.

Since you have replaced the SATA hard drive to SSD on your laptop try restoring the BIOS to default and check if it helps.

1.    Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
2.    Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
3.    On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
4.    Press F10 to Save and Exit.
5.    Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
6.    Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Try running a hardware diagnostics on your PC and let me know the results.

Refer this article to know how to run system diagnostics test on your PC.

Also, if you are using self-created recovery discs, the discs might have gone faulty or the recovery process has not completed successfully.

So please contact HP and order a set of recovery discs and check if it helps.
