Hey @twstdchild, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Pavilion x360 is refusing to power on, let's go through some troubleshooting steps to bring it back to life.

Check for Signs of Life

Before diving in, check if:

  • The power light turns on when pressing the power button.
  • The charging LED lights up when the charger is plugged in.
  • Any fan noise or keyboard backlight flickers occur.

The Hard Reset (Power Drain)

If there's no response at all, try a hard reset:

  1. Unplug the charger.
  2. Disconnect any USB devices or peripherals.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  4. Plug the charger back in and try turning it on again.

Charger & Battery Check

  • Try a different power outlet and check if the charging LED turns on.
  • If the laptop has a removable battery, take it out, connect only the charger, and try turning it on.
  • If the battery is built-in, leave it plugged in for 30 minutes, then try powering it on again.

BIOS Recovery (Win + B Trick)

If the laptop powers on but doesn’t boot, try a BIOS recovery:

  1. Power off the laptop.
  2. Press and hold Win + B, then press the power button for 5-10 seconds.
  3. Release the power button but keep holding Win + B until the BIOS recovery screen appears.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Perform a Forced Boot (Screen Black, No HP Logo)

  1. Connect the charger and press Power + F2 repeatedly.
  2. If the HP Diagnostics menu appears, run a system test.
  3. If nothing happens, try pressing Power + F10 (BIOS) or Power + ESC (Startup Menu).

Possible Hardware Issue

  • If the laptop remains completely dead, the issue could be with the charger, motherboard, or power button.
  • If the power LED blinks, count the blinks—they indicate specific hardware errors.

I hope this helps. 💡🚀

Take care and have a good day. 😇
