Hi @Zhou1999

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To disable Legacy Support (also called Legacy BIOS Mode) on your HP 250 laptop, you’ll need to access the BIOS settings. Legacy Support is typically used for booting older operating systems or devices, and disabling it can help switch your laptop to a more modern UEFI mode, which is recommended for better performance and security.

Follow these steps to disable Legacy Support on your HP 250 laptop:

1. Enter the BIOS Setup

  • Power off your laptop completely.
  • Turn it on, and as soon as the HP logo appears, immediately press the Esc key repeatedly (once every second or so) until the Startup Menu appears.
  • From the Startup Menu, press F10 to enter the BIOS Setup.

2. Locate Legacy Support Option

  • In the BIOS menu, use the arrow keys to navigate to the System Configuration or Boot Options tab.
  • Look for an option labeled Legacy Support, Legacy Boot, or CSM (Compatibility Support Module).

3. Disable Legacy Support

  • Once you find Legacy Support or CSM, select it and change the setting to Disabled.
  • Alternatively, you may see an option for UEFI Boot or UEFI Only. Ensure that UEFI is enabled, and if the Legacy option is enabled, disable it.

4. Save and Exit

  • After making the changes, press F10 to save your changes.
  • You’ll be prompted to confirm saving the settings; press Yes to save and exit the BIOS.

5. Reboot Your Laptop

  • Your laptop will now reboot. It should boot using UEFI mode instead of Legacy mode.

I hope this helps.
