Had not used the notebook for a long time. When I tried to boot it up, a screen flashed up; it flashes up for too short a time to read properly but at the bottom, it gives F9 and F10 boot options but I could not get these to do anything. Then the screen goes to an "Enter CURRENT password" prompt. No HP or Windows logo at all. When the password is unsuccessfully entered 3 times, the following is displayed; Password check failed / Fatal Error... System failed / CNU92032MQ and the only thing the notebook can do is be switched off, to repeat the same process. I tried removing battery and using the various the e9xxx passwords given on the blog, nothing has worked so far.
(Is this a "Power On" or a "BIOS" password prompt?)
Please help me recover my notebook.
