Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 15-fa1093dx

When I open my laptop, the power button light stays on for 5 seconds, then turns off for 5 seconds repeatedly, and the laptop doesn’t turn on at all.

Hi @Munkhbaatarmrn

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for describing the issue so clearly—and I’m genuinely sorry your Victus 15-fa1093dx isn’t powering on properly. The blinking power button pattern you’re seeing typically indicates a hardware-level fault or a failed boot attempt. Let’s walk through a focused recovery sequence to help bring your system back to life.

Step-by-Step: Recover from Blinking Power Button and No Boot

1. Perform a Full Power Drain

  • Disconnect the power adapter and any peripherals.
  • Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Wait another 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power adapter directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  • Press the power button once and observe the response.

This clears residual charge and resets embedded controller logic.

2. Try a Key Combination Boot

  • With the laptop off, press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds.
  • Release all keys and wait up to 60 seconds.

This triggers a BIOS recovery if the system firmware is corrupted.

3. Check for Display Response

  • Shine a flashlight at an angle on the screen while powering on.
  • Look for faint outlines or backlight flicker.

If the screen remains completely dark, the issue may be with display initialization.

4. Test with Battery Disconnected (If Removable)

  • If your model allows battery removal:
    • Remove the battery.
    • Connect only the power adapter.
    • Try powering on.

This isolates battery-related faults.

5. Use HP UEFI Diagnostics (If Accessible)

  • Power on and press Esc repeatedly to access the Startup Menu.
  • Press F2 for diagnostics.
  • Run System Test > Extensive Test.

If the system doesn’t reach this menu, it’s likely a pre-POST failure.

Let me know how the laptop responds after the power drain and key combination boot. If it remains unresponsive, I can guide you through checking LED blink codes or preparing a BIOS recovery USB. You're doing everything right—this sequence should help uncover the root cause.
