Hi,
My laptop fan was running fast recently after linux boot up and I was considering to change it.
Two days ago after login to linux, fan was running fast then laptop turned off suddenly and burn smell came from fan.
I opened the cover and unmount the fan and smell was coming from it only.
I purchased fan and mount it to laptop.
When I push the power button, it is lit but there is no progress.
My battery was already dead and I was using laptop with adapter for 2 years.
I removed battery during fan removal.
Would you help me?

Sorry for your problems ... but I don't know what you expect US to do from here for you?
From your description, sounds like the processor overheated, not enough to generate a burning smell, but enough to prevent it from running again.
About all you can do is take this to a laptop repair facility and pay them to replace the processor -- but there is no guarantee that will fix it.
