@Om95, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP Victus laptop powers on but shows a black screen. Let’s walk through some steps to help resolve this issue.
Perform a Hard Reset
This helps clear any temporary hardware or power issues.
- Turn off the laptop completely.
- Unplug the power adapter.
- If the battery is removable, take it out.
- Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then turn the laptop back on.
Check the Display Brightness
Sometimes the screen might be on but too dim to see.
- Press F3 (or the brightness up key) repeatedly to increase brightness.
- Also try connecting an external monitor to check if the display is working externally.
Use Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B
This key combination resets the graphics driver.
- Press Windows + Ctrl + Shift + B simultaneously.
- You should hear a beep and see the screen flicker—this indicates the graphics driver is being reset.
Boot into BIOS
This helps determine if the issue is hardware or software related.
- Turn off the laptop.
- Press the Power button, then immediately start pressing the Esc key repeatedly (once every second).
- If the Startup Menu appears, press F10 to enter BIOS.
- If the BIOS screen appears, the display hardware is likely fine, and the issue may be with Windows or drivers.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
